Located in the Nantahala Gorge and surrounded by National Forest, Mystic River was planned as a rustic destination resort community. Harris Architects provided concept development and schematic design for amenities including a clubhouse, entry gate, pavillion, and bridges. Harris Architects also drafted the architectural covenants. The design reflects the architectural vernacular of the southern Appalachian region, and the Adirondacks, utilizing stone, log and heavy timbers.
